The Brookes Academy: Supporting future generations of nurses and midwives

The Brookes Academy will ensure that Epworth nurses and midwives can give the very best patient care possible for generations to come.

The Academy is powered by our philanthropic community. Every single part of the Brookes Academy is funded by our generous donors.

We need your support to help bring this big and bold idea to life.

Support the Brookes Academy by making a donation:

  • Towards the development of education programs for nurses and midwives.
  • To support the development of a 6-storey building to create a world-class learning environment to house the Brookes Academy.
    Learn more about the building.

Or, create your Brookes Academy legacy. There are two different ways:

  1. A Brookes Academy scholarship
  2. Help shape the future for nurses and midwives at Epworth by establishing a perpetually-endowed scholarship or as a gift to Epworth in your Will.

  3. Give a gift to the Brookes Academy in your Will
  4. Create your Brookes Academy legacy by leaving a gift in your Will to support Epworth’s exceptional team of nurses and midwives.

Contact Vanessa Dannock to discuss establishing an endowment or leaving a gift to Epworth in your Will.

We're deeply passionate about education, and we have felt firsthand the genuine kindness and support of nurses at Epworth.

Nurse Georgia with Ken Russell

Helping me to pursue my dreams

Emergency Department Nurse Georgia received the Ken Russell Brookes Academy Scholarship and completed the Graduate Certificate of Nursing – an opportunity she feels has elevated her knowledge and skills.

“The scholarship opportunity and study has allowed me to deliver a more comprehensive and in-depth level of care to my patients,” she said.

Before Ken passed away, Georgia was fortunate to be able to meet Ken in person. “Meeting Ken was very special. He was such a kind man, and it was so nice to put a face to the name of the donor who made this scholarship possible for me! His generosity is incredibly special, and he was genuinely interested in understanding my role and my dreams for my career.”
