Innovative neurosurgery changing lives

“These structures are only a few millimetres in size, and optimal visualisation of the surgical field is imperative for our surgeons.”

Scott Bulger was delighted to be on-hand to see the microscope being wheeled into theatres.

For Epworth patient, Phil, it has transformed his life.

“I was just performing a very basic act at home. I bent over and something happened, and the pain was to the point where it was eye watering. I could only walk 10 or 15 meters and then I’d have to squat down or sit down. I couldn't walk any further,” shared Phil.

For Phil, who loves being active, the surgery has been truly life-changing!

“I feel very lucky to live in a moment where this treatment and technology is available to me.”
