Your gift to prostate cancer research will help improve outcomes for men with prostate cancer.
For many men with prostate cancer, the long-term side-effects of current therapies and procedures can be life-changing and challenging.
Common side-effects after surgery include urinary incontinence and erectile dysfunction which can be devastating.
Our dedicated researchers at Epworth are investigating new surgical techniques and procedures to help reduce these side-effects.
Please make a gift today to prostate cancer research to improve the outcomes for men with prostate cancer.
The team at the EJ Whitten Prostate Cancer Research Centre at Epworth are investigating whether the use of scans from the highly specialised imaging system called the Prostate-Specific Membrane Antigen (PSMA) PET/CT in conjunction with robotic surgery will lead to better patient outcomes.
These images provide the surgeon with a more detailed and clear view of the complex nerve system around the prostate, enabling the surgeon to make accurate clinical decisions such as nerve-sparing techniques which minimise the risk of ongoing side-effects for the patient.
With your support, we can start this research, and you will help us find better outcomes for our patients with prostate cancer.
Please support this important research and help improve outcomes for men with prostate cancer.
